Inspired by the intelligence and emotional wisdom of young people, Metro Theater Company creates professional theater, fosters inclusive community, and nurtures meaningful learning through the arts. Founded in 1973, MTC is St. Louis’s third-oldest professional theater – and the only professional theater in St. Louis exclusively committed to theater for youth and families. MTC partners with schools and districts to provide arts-integrated curriculum and residencies, a signature violence prevention program Say Something, Do Something, and countless opportunities to experience the joy and social-emotional learning that comes from encountering live theater. During COVID-19, MTC has shifted its programs to virtual format, but we look forward to in-person programming with young people as soon as it is safe to do so.
