The Collaborative is is back in business!
Those of you who were with us last year recall that, due to severe budget constraints, UMSL did not allow any endowed professors to access funds from their endowments. Those restrictions have now been lifted! What does this mean for Des Lee Fine Arts school district students and teachers?
Des Lee Fine Arts organizations will be able to offer programming to Des Lee schools!
There will be some limited opportunities for in-person events in some schools, where and as school districts permit those experiences.
However, here are school districts that are not comfortable inviting artists into their schools. In like fashion, there are many artists who are not yet comfortable coming into schools in person. For those schools, we are excited to announce new virtual experiences that have been posted and gathered right here on this Des Lee Fine Arts Education website. https://desleefinearts.org/resources
More exciting information will be coming that includes access to standards-based fine arts lessons that will span lessons, materials, and performances from all 50 states.
While it is still too soon to commit, we are of great hope that we will be able to, in some fashion, host some form of the Des Lee Fine Arts Festival. The beautiful Touhill Performing Arts Center has been reserved for the High School Festival on February 1, 2022, and the Middle School Festival on Wednesday, February 2, 2022.
We are also beginning to schedule the monthly meetings of the Des Lee Fine Arts Education School and Arts Organization partners. Tuesday, September 21, 2021, 12:00 p.m., JC Penney 402 will be our first meeting time and place.
So, start to check this website. Check social media. Keep up with your email inbox. There will be many exciting opportunities coming your way.
