Prison Performing Arts is a multi-discipline, literacy and performing arts program dedicated to enriching the lives of youth and adults in Missouri’s criminal and juvenile justice systems. We foster individual and social change by providing incarcerated adults, justice-involved youth, and returning citizens with opportunities to participate in the arts as artists, students, and audience members. Participants learn creative and constructive ways to express emotions, build trust, and work in collaboration with one another. The purpose of the St. Louis Low Brass Collective (STLLBC) is to provide St. Louis and surrounding regions with educational and performance opportunities for student and amateur low-brass (trombone, euphonium, baritone horn and tuba) musicians, to present concerts and events that are of interest to regional low-brass musicians and provide educational and event information, via a web site, to members of the general public who are interested in low-brass music. The STLLBC is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization.
We have had events with featuring low brass musicians that play jazz, classical, rock & roll, funk and everything in between. We strive to further instrumental education to not only low brass musicians but all musicians in the area. All of our events are free and open to the public!
