The University of Missouri–St. Louis (UMSL) has once again earned national recognition as a Community Engaged University by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching.

This prestigious designation highlights UMSL’s ongoing commitment to meaningful partnerships, collaborative learning, and community-driven impact across the St. Louis region.

A National Honor for Community Engagement

The Carnegie Community Engagement Classification is awarded to universities that demonstrate deep, sustained collaboration with their communities. UMSL’s continued recognition reflects the strength of its partnerships and the university’s dedication to creating positive social, educational, and cultural impact.

Spotlight on the Des Lee Fine Arts Education Collaborative

An excellent example of this work is the Des Lee Fine Arts Education Collaborative, which brings together educators, artists, schools, and cultural institutions to strengthen arts education throughout the region.
